30 kW solar power plant with 45 kWh battery system
This project was implemented in cooperation with the Rural Support Service (LAD), installing a 30 kW solar power plant (SES) together with a 45 kWh battery energy storage system (BESS) for a farmer in the Jēkabpils region. The system is integrated into a new metal trapezoidal roof on a fish farm, ensuring a sustainable power supply and reducing costs. The project promotes self-consumption by using LAD funding for renewable energy investments and complies with Latvian and EU standards.
Main works performed:
- Engineering This project was implemented in cooperation with the Rural Support Service (LAD), installing a 30 kW solar power plant (SES) together with a 45 kWh battery energy storage system (BESS) for a farmer in the Jēkabpils region. The system is integrated into a new metal trapezoidal roof on a fish farm, ensuring a sustainable power supply and reducing costs. The project promotes self-consumption by using LAD funding for renewable energy investments and complies with Latvian and EU standards.
- Installation: Installation of solar panels (75-90 units) on a trapezoidal roof with aluminum fasteners; integration of BESS and hybrid inverters in farm premises.
- Testing: I-V measurements, thermography, load tests, and configuration checks, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Documentation: Installation reports and LAD reports with photographic documentation.
Place of fulfilment:
Installation carried out at a fish farm in Jēkabpils district – panels on the roof, BESS and inverters in technical rooms.
Next steps:
- Regular monitoring system with an application for productivity monitoring.
- Annual audits for defect elimination.
- Expanding potential with EV charging or additional batteries within the LAD framework.
- Training farmers to maintain the system.
